Sarah and I spent a few relaxing hours on one of our days-off at nearby Cocoa Beach. With sunblock and beach towels in hand, we found a quiet spot on the beach to kick back and enjoy the sand and ocean.
We set out our beach towels
and slathered on the sunscreen, but we weren't much in the mood for just sitting out under the sun and baking. We wanted to build a sandcastle!
On the way to the beach, we had stopped at one of the many touristy stores lining the path to pick up some high-tech sandcastle building supplies:
buckets and shovels.
We felt like kids again as we filled our buckets
with wet sand and shaped our sand castle. We dug out a moat and built a castle and several smaller surrounding structures (actually, the castle wound up looking more like some sort of Aztec hotel than a palace). It was lots of fun, and we spent lots of time laughing.
