Orlando / Tampa Commute
Map of Orlando to Tampa My wife Sarah and I live in Orlando, Florida. But I work at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. 80 miles away. Which means that every morning I commute to work, and every evening I commute back home again.

Florida's Interstate 4 It takes me about an hour and fifteen minutes to get to work each morning, and it takes an hour and a half Road Work Ahead to return home in the evening (road construction slows down the return trip). It is an easy drive straight across Florida's Interstate 4.

Truth is, I really don't mind the drive and actually kind of enjoy it. Burns & Allen and Jack Benny on the Ipod In the mornings, it is a chance to wake up and ease into my day, and on the way home, it is a chance to wind down from the day.

To pass the time, I listen to old time radio programs of George Burns & Gracie Allen and Jack Benny that I have loaded onto my Ipod. I really enjoy them and they help to make my commute more entertaining.

Occasionally, I will run into a traffic snag that delays my journey. Traffic Back-up Florida drivers seem to find it necessary to slow down and rubber neck at every car pulled over at the side of the road. Friday evening traffic heading into the weekend seems to get gummed up at the construction sites more than the rest of the week.

But, generally, it is an easy, peaceful drive that I really don't mind at all. Perhaps I still have some of that "road warrior" blood left in me from my Circus days.
