DisneyQuest Title
DisneyQuest exterior DisneyQuest is five floors of themed zones with virtual reality thrills, arcade and midway games, and hands-on, interactive attractions. It is a virtual Walt Disney World!
Sarah and I recently visited DisneyQuest, located at Downtown Disney, with our friend Dean who was here on business from NYC. Despite my injured knee and not being able to do all of the attractions, I took it slow and had lots of fun.

Create Zone Logo From the very moment we rode up in the Cybrolator with our guide, Aladdin's Genie, we were transported into another world of imagination and technology. From the central hub, we were enticed by four separate zones: Create, Explore, Replay, and Score.

We started our adventures in the Replay Zone, where classic games and rides got a futuristic Disney twist. Create Zone Logo

Frogger Videogame While I played classic video games like Frogger and Pac-Man, Sarah and Dean rode Buzz Lightyear's Astroblaster, a bumper car-type attraction that allows pilots to pick up "space" balls by running over them, and the co-pilots use them to blast other participants.
In the Explore Zone, we boarded a pirate ship and battled 3-D buccaneers at Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for Buccaneer Gold. Pirates of the Caribbean
Sarah and Dean also took a Virtual Jungle Cruise where paddling an actual raft sent them through a virtual prehistoric jungle.

At the Animation Academy in the Create Zone, we learned to draw a classic Disney character. We could also create and record our own song, or make our own toy.
One of DisneyQuest's most thrilling attractions is CyberSpace Mountain, where we designed our own rollercoaster and then rode it! CyberSpace Mountain title

Lower Quality Video (855kb)
Higher Quality Video (6.38mb)
Our coaster, which Sarah dubbed the "Wily Riot," rated a 5 (on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the most thrilling and dangerous) and went upside down eight times! You can watch a video of Dean and me riding our coaster by clicking to the left.
DisneyQuest challenged our imaginations, our skills, our bravery, and our creativity. Its lack of clocks and windows made it easy to lose ourselves for many, many hours in the endless attractions they had to offer. We finally succumbed to our fatigue and my sore knee and bid DisneyQuest a farewell after a delightful time spent there.
