Home! Now What?
Sarah and I said goodbye to Busch Gardens and Driving home Williamsburg, Virginia, packed up our belongings and our pets, and made the trip home to Columbus, Ohio (with an overnight stop at Sarah's home in Charleston, West Virginia).

We moved into the empty third floor of my brother's house, arranged our stuff (once the movers finally delivered it) in our new abode and then...

Will Clown For Food What? I was unemployed. I didn't know what I was going to do. Sarah and I moved to Columbus to be closer to our families, but we had no prospects for jobs. We just moved and hoped opportunities would present themselves.

And a few opportunities have presented themselves.

For starters, I am answering the phone at my Dad's law office. My mom typically did it, but she has other things she needs to be doing. So, for a few hours each morning, Solove Law Office I sit at a desk, wait for the phone to ring, answer "Solove Law Office" and direct the call to the appropriate party. Easiest job I've ever had. I spend most of my time on the computer, surfing the internet, working on my website, selling stuff on ebay, or other tasks of my own devising. Nice work if you can get it.

First tooth I've even spent some time writing a children's story that I hope to eventually get published. Inspired by my niece, it is the story of a girl who is the only one of her friends to not lose a baby tooth yet.

My nieces (and my sister-in-law) have also helped provide other job opportunities. My middle niece is in preschool. Preschool kids Starting in January, I am going to be teaching a drama class once a week for six weeks at her preschool. I'm excited and a little nervous. Even though I taught many workshops and seminars in my years with the Circus, I've never dealt with a class full of preschoolers. It should be interesting, and it will definitely be a learning experience.

I may also be teaching a drama class to elementary school kids as part of an afterschool program. And I may be teaching drama and directing a play at my oldest niece's elementary school. I will be meeting with people to discuss these opportunities just after the new year begins.

A foot in the door So... opportunities have presented themselves. None of them are full time and I'm never going to get rich doing them. But they are a start. They are a chance to get my foot in the door and get my name out into the community. Hopefully these experiences will lead to other opportunities.
