In front of my home in Columbus |
Sarah and I took a long, four-day weekend and flew to my home in Columbus, Ohio. The last time I was there was over a year and a half ago, so I was very eager to see my family and friends. |
| There was a special treat waiting for me when we arrived home: my new niece! Miriam Dorit Solove was born just a couple of days before my arrival in Columbus. She is my third niece, but the first I have ever seen at this early, early age. |
With my brand new niece, Miriam |
| It was also a treat spending time with my other two nieces. | |

Playing with my oldest niece, Becca |
Becca, the oldest, and I spent lots of time playing. We even put on a puppet show with Muppet finger puppets! |

| Her younger sister, Abby, was adorable. The last time I saw Abby, she was still just a baby, but now she is a toddler full of personality. |
The personable Abby |
| My parents had an open house for friends and family so that I could see everyone in one location and didn't have to go traipsing all around Columbus. This was also the first time that many people got to meet Sarah. It was such a pleasure (and occasionally overwhelming) visiting with everyone and catching up on their lives and catching them up on ours. | |

Posing in the park |
It was a beautiful weekend. The temperature was 70° and autumn was in the air. Sarah and I took a walk to nearby Schiller Park to enjoy the weather before returning to the heat and humidity of Florida. |

It was so nice to be home.
I have spent so many years away from home, and I miss my family very much. This was a much needed trip. |
