Sarah and I went to this Christmas Party at Walt Disney World last year and had a wonderful time. The party lasts from 7:00pm until midnight and the separate admission is only offered to a limited number of people, which means the park isn't quite as busy as it usually is for the holidays.

From the very moment that you enter and see the park decorated for the holidays and the snow falling on Main Street, you know that Mickey's Christmas Party is going to be a special event.

There is a special holiday show in front of Cinderella's Castle with all of the Disney characters and lots of singing and dancing. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Parade is wonderful and fun and features, in addition to Mickey and Minnie and all of the Disney characters as well as prancing reindeer and marching toy soldiers and dancing gingerbread men, an appearance by Santa Claus himself.

There is also a presentation of The Magic Kingdom's nighttime fireworks spectacular, Wishes. It truly is a magnificent display as the "wishes" of the Disney characters light up the sky. At one point, the fireworks actually surround you on all sides! It is breathtaking.

We had a delightful evening strolling through the park and visiting some of our favorite attractions. We had free hot chocolate and Christmas cookies. And we got to visit with some characters, like our "friend" Mary Poppins. The Magic Kingdom is particularly magical at Christmas time!
