| It has been a month since I last saw my orthopedist, and I've been busy with physical therapy three times a week and rehabilitation. On September 1st, 2004, I returned to the doctor for an update. I am happy to report that I making very good progress. |

I am essentially at the point in my rehabilitation where I should be at this stage. My strength is improving. My flexion (the bending of my knee) is improving. |
| The only place where I am having difficulty is with my extension. My knee still won't straighten, despite my efforts to get it to do so. It is about 6° short of being straight - far enough to make a difference - despite the various braces and devices I am using to try and correct the problem. It is frustrating, but I will continue to persevere. | |

| I asked my doctor if he could estimate when I might be able to go back to work. He restated that complete rehabiliation usually takes at least five months, which still leaves me a few months before I will be released to return to work. |
|
| The doctor has released me and my knee for "light duty" ... unfortunately, there is no light duty for a performer like myself. | |
|
So I will continue to spend my days in physical therapy and at home exercising, stretching, and improving my knee strength.
My next visit to the doctor is on October 1st. |
