Staples Removed Title
Knee before surgery

Knee after surgery
After surgery
On Wednesday, July 21, I returned to the orthopedist. I had the staples from my knee removed, and what a difference that made! I didn't realize how much I could actually feel the staples in my knee until they were gone.
X-rays were taken of my knee and everything looked good. I could see the screws that kept my new ACL graft in place.

Dr. Blick examined my knee and tested my range of motion.

I am still unable to straighten my leg completely, and I still can't bend it much. Of course, it has only been two weeks since my surgery. I still have a lot of rehabilitation ahead of me.

Dr. Blick recommended that my physical therapist be more aggressive with my therapy to encourage further range of motion and especially to work on my knee extension.
Shower Dr. Blick also told me to stop using my knee brace to better improve my knee strength and ability to walk. And, the best news of all, with my staples gone, I can shower again! Hooray!
