Wonder Works
"A top-secret laboratory, located in the Bermuda Triangle, was ripped from its foundation by a horrific tornado and carried thousands of miles away to Orlando, Florida. This tornado was created by scientists from around the world trying to find answers to the unexplainable. During their experiment, something went awry and the power of the tornado was unleashed throughout the laboratory. Remarkably, all of the experiments remained intact and functional. This top-secret laboratory is known as
Wonder Works."

Sarah and I had driven past Wonder Works the upside-down building that is Wonder Works many, many times and finally decided to go explore this topsy-turvy "laboratory." Inside, we found an unusual collection of exhibits on topics ranging from space travel to natural disasters to music.

Trying on an astronaut suit All of the exhibits were hands-on. We got to experience first-hand the forces of an earthquake and a hurricane. We got to feel what it was like to rest on a bed of nails. There were challenges to test our eye / hand coordination. There were tests of strength. We viewed baffling optical illusions. I even played a song on a giant piano. Wonder Works was an adventure for all of our senses.

We particularly enjoyed the "bubble room." Sarah makes giant bubbles With oversized hoops, we were able to make giant bubbles formations: bubble arches, bubble columns, bubbles big enough to climb in!

Another of my favorite attractions was the "Theme Song Challenge." Theme Song Challenge Computer screens played TV theme songs and we had to identify what TV shows they were from. Sarah and I had a lot of fun playing the trivia game, and we were very good at it, easily wracking up the day's high scores!

Crazy mirror! Wonder Works has plenty to see and do with its odd assortment of "experiments." Some of it was educational, some of it was impressive, some of it was unpredictable, some of it was absurd. Sarah and I most certainly had a good time, and we definitely spent a great deal of our time there laughing!
